The fashion in the United States is generally informal. Clothing in the United States also depends on a variety of factors, including location, venue, and demographic factors such as ethnicity. The Fashion norms are changing depending on the decade.
The most important brands in the United States are Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan & Calvin Klein.


Tommy Hilfiger was born in New York, but his family is originally Irish and Scottish. He started working at the age of 18, selling jeans and bell-bottom pants.

In 1984, he founded the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation. In March 2010, Phillips-Van Heusen, owner of Calvin Klein, bought the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation for $3 billion.


Ralph Lauren (born October 14, 1939) is an American fashion designer and business executive; best-known for his Polo Ralph Lauren clothing brand. From a young age he started working after school to earn money to buy suits.

Donna Karan (born October 2, 1948) is an American fashion designer and the creator of the Donna Karan New York and DKNY clothing labels. she started her own business "to design modern clothes for modern people".
In 1988 Karan, nicknamed The Queen Of Seventh Avenue by the time, extended her women's 'Donna Karan New York' line by a less expensive one for younger women, called DKNY.

Calvin Richard Klein (born November 19, 1942) is an American fashion designer who launched the company that would later become Calvin Klein Inc. in 1968.In addition to clothing, Klein also gave his name to a range of perfumes, now owned by Coty Inc. The Swatch Group manufactures watches and jewelry under the Calvin Klein Jeans brands.

Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel (19 August 1883 – 10 January 1971) was a pioneering French fashiondesigner whose modernist philosophy, menswear-inspired fashions, and pursuit of expensive simplicity made her an important figure in 20th-century fashion. Americans like casual stores where you can buy clothes on fashion, it’s very usual to find the same fashion around the hold country and the “musts” there are always marked by celebrities

Especially the trends in Louisiana are the same as the rest of USA but with a point marked by Louisiana’s history.
Unfortunately Americans don’t have any idea of Spanish designers; this is because in USA there’re a lot of designers like Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera…

What they prefer is to use trousers or skinny pants but skirts are on fashion too. Referring to this shoes are very important for example TOM’s shoes are very popular because it helps children without shoes, like charity.

But Americans, don’t mind brands, they look for a comfortable clothes on fashion. Also sample sales offer a good alternative to buy affordable fashion. For they the complements are very important, like necklaces, bracelets, nails…
